A Trailblazer in Luxury Travel and Sustainable Tourism
Bonita has been instrumental in positioning Rwanda as a leading eco-luxury travel destination. With a deep passion for luxury travel, sustainability, and showcasing the unparalleled beauty of Africa, she has made remarkable contributions to the tourism industry.
She served for seven years as Director of Sales and Marketing for the renowned One&Only resorts in Rwanda—Gorilla’s Nest and Nyungwe House—establishing these properties as iconic destinations for discerning global travelers.
For the last six years, Bonita has chaired the Rwanda Tours and Travel Association, championing ethical business practices and sustainable tourism development. She also serves on the boards of the Rwanda Association of Professional Conference Organizers and the East African Tourism Platform, contributing to the growth of tourism and regional integration.
As co-founder and managing partner of Global Events Africa, Bonita has driven transformative experiences in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) sector. Her leadership helped bring the first-ever IRONMAN 70.3 to East Africa, further cementing Rwanda’s position as a premier event destination.
Bonita is also the founder of Uber Luxe Safaris (ULS), a boutique luxury safari company specializing in bespoke travel for high-net-worth individuals. ULS curates extraordinary experiences across East Africa, from the iconic migration in the Serengeti and Maasai Mara to intimate encounters with Rwanda’s endangered mountain gorillas. A firm advocate of sustainable tourism, Bonita ensures ULS integrates conservation efforts into every journey.
Through her visionary leadership, Bonita continues to shape the future of tourism in Rwanda and beyond, leaving a lasting legacy of excellence, innovation, and sustainability.
